I've lived here for 3 years and have had a transformative time in this space and highly recommend the space, neighborhood and community. This furnished in-law style suite is a 1 bedroom, 1 bath full-sized apartment attached to a ranch style house on 1/4 acre surrounded by organic vegetation: avocado, pomegranate, lemon, fig, banana, mango, papaya, root vegetables, greens & herbs. The unit includes a Queen sized bed, closet space, full-sized washer/dryer & refrigerator, standing AC unit, 43 inch flat-screen TV with cable, blender & juicer, plates & cutlery, fresh linen, skylights and natural stone floors. All water that runs through the plumbing is filtered with a reverse osmosis system that includes showers, kitchen sinks and the in-ground pool. In addition to a chlorine-free pool, an infrared sauna is also available.
It is on a safe street with little traffic and 2 blocks away from Portlock Beach. Street parking is always available. This all inclusive location offers convenience for a driver and public transportation traveler. It is around the corner from Kalaniana'ole Highway, a main artery that takes you to Waikiki/Downtown area in less than 20 minutes or to Kailua in 30. The award-winning public bus, "The Bus", is located 2 blocks away and reliably runs from 4:30 AM to midnight everyday. Hawai'i Kai/Portlock area has a vibrant local community that includes: Kokohead, Kuli'ou'ou and Makapu'u hikes; 24 Hr Fitness; plenty shopping; local restaurants; 24-hour Safeway; Costco; Whole Foods (15 min), Mlama Artisan on Saturdays, local coffee shops, a public library, post offices as well as a very short drive to other beaches.
